Five editors that don’t need a server.

Editing a file online usually means uploading it somewhere, waiting, and trusting a third-party server with your document. Editly works differently: every tool — image editor, PDF page manager, document editor, spreadsheet grid, and code editor — runs entirely in your browser.

That has real limits, and we’d rather be upfront about them than oversell the product. Rewriting text inside an existing PDF’s original layout isn’t something any browser-based tool can do reliably, so Editly instead lets you add new content on top of a PDF, manage its pages, or work with its text separately. DOCX round-trips preserve common formatting — headings, bold, italics, lists — but not complex layouts.

Within those honest limits, everything is real: crop and filter an image, reorder and annotate a PDF, rewrite a document, fix a spreadsheet, or edit JSON with live validation — all without a single byte leaving your device.
